Even with just ten Silk Road teas and some soaps and body products, it had already become evident that we were more of a tea store than anything else. It was also evident that both our menu and supply chain had to get more exciting! We soon discovered Earl Grey Cream, Treasures of Japan, Chai Sansibar and many others that have remained favourites to this day. New teas also meant new packaging and so began the Aromatica brand.
Although we liked the elegant look of the script on our sign, new customers often came in asking
what kind of soup we were serving? ... ... you can sure see why!
And as all new businesses do we advertised. Flyers, emails, newsletters, the occasional newspaper ad and a website! And we held events - our first tea tasting was held at Magnolia Manor with admission by donation of food for the Food Bank. We had a great time and collected 37 lbs of food for the Food Bank that day.
It was fun in the early days and it still is!
